Impact of Linguaphone in India

In the last three years, around 400 schools and colleges in India have established Linguaphone Language Laboratories, and have reported great success in training their students in Global English.

Linguaphone was chosen by the Government of Andhra Pradesh as the core curriculum for an ITES training diploma project. Linguaphone 21 was selected by McKinsey and Company, after they had compared 150 programs from around the world. In the pilot project, about 1000 students were trained, with over 95% of them getting placement in the companies of their choice.

There have been many other Government projects including the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education ( for polytechnics), the Maharashtra Department of Vocational Training and Education (for ITIs), and the Rajasthan Government Council for Secondary Education( for teacher training) under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan. Discussions are underway with many other states including Gujarat, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu to introduce Linguaphone Labs.

Private sector schools and colleges have been quick to adopt the Lab concept, and have seen significant improvement in the Spoken English skills, and employability of their students. There have been a few French Labs installed as well.

In addition, over 20,000 individuals have purchased Linguaphone programs and enhanced their communications skills in English, Business English, and a range of over 30 International languages.
